Hypnosis is a way of artificially accessing the REM state by gently guiding the brain into a state of focused attention and deep relaxation, in preparation for learning. We learn when we are in a state of trance and this is a state that we slip in and out of throughout the day.

In this relaxed state, I can gently guide you to access positive experiences and resources, as well as to rehearse new behaviours and possibilities. During trance, the mind can also gently detach strong emotions from traumatic memories that the brain perceives as life threatening.

A calm mind means less overthinking, more clarity to make decisions, and being able to see situations more rationally. This can lead to better communication, more fulfilling relationships and improved concentration.

Hypnotherapy also helps you to switch off and drift off at night, so that you can wake up refreshed and ready to start the day feeling relaxed, in control and motivated.

With ten years experience, I create a supportive environment, using solution focused techniques and the relaxing state of hypnosis, enabling you to come up with small steps that will move you towards achieving your goal.

The initial consultation gives you the opportunity to tell me about what you would like help with, in as much or as little detail as you feel comfortable with. We will look at what you would like to achieve from the sessions, and you will find out about hypnosis and how the brain works, so that you will understand the process and how we will enable you to make the changes that you desire. You will be given a complementary MP3/CD to listen to at night which will help you to reduce anxiety, relax and sleep well, and move you towards your goals in between our sessions.

During subsequent sessions we will look at your progress and goals, and we will use the relaxing state of trance, enabling the brain to process that information to gently guide you forwards.


Would You Like Hypnotherapy Without Leaving the Comfort of Your Home?

Hypnotherapy is extremely effective in person and is also extremely effective online! Online hypnotherapy works in just the same way as if we were in the same room. All that is required is a good internet connection, a Zoom account which is free and easy to create ( I can explain how), and either a phone, tablet or computer.

The use of Zoom has many advantages, as there are no travelling / parking issues, and often clients feel more comfortable being in their own home. It also means that I am able to help clients from around the world, so if you want to get the results of solution focused hypnotherapy with me, but don’t live near Tetbury, that’s no problem!

What Is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis. It uses techniques including NLP (neurolinguistic programming), CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and SFBT (solution focused brief therapy) along with hypnosis and an understanding of how the brain works, to enable positive change in a short period of time.

What Is Hypnosis?

The trance state is a perfectly normal state that we slip in and out of throughout the day, for example when watching television, reading and driving. It is a state of relaxation when our brain is in fact working much harder than when we are concentrating on something tricky like a maths exam.

CanYou Make Me do Things I Don’t Want To Do?

Absolutely not. You will have complete awareness throughout and control over what you choose to accept and do.

Do You Work With Children?

Children and teenagers respond well to hypnotherapy, if they are wanting to make a change. I see children aged eleven and older.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

We are all individual so this varies from person to person. Some people just need a few to get back on track, and others need more to ensure that their new habits and way of thinking stick longterm.

All clients will be given a complementary hypnosis CD or MP3 to listen to which will reinforce what we do together.

How Do I Pay?

For online clients, payment is taken by bank transfer when the appointment is made. For face to face clients, payment is taken by card, in cash or by bank transfer.

Please note that all cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment will be subject to a £25 cancellation fee, regardless of the reason for cancellation.
